'i' going home to kwamakutha for christmas,some said.'i'd lyk to see my sistars nd grandparents again,nd thule,i would lyk u to cum with me.Thule shook her head.i cnt leave the wickhams on christmas day.Simon look at her sadly.you wil be the first of many who will forget the customs nd traditions our people.is this what you want?'i'm not ashamed of who nd what i am!thule said sharply nd let go of simon's hand.they werewalking in the wickhams' big garden jst after thule's last visit to winnie.'maybe' not.but think.we don't celebrate christmas as these people do.Dont celebrate christmas at these dn.Dont u sometimes miss the old ways?The simple joys that poorer people share at christmas time?like the christmases you share with your family?'my family are dead...my home burn nd detroyed.these people have become my family,simon.they are kind to me and treat as a doughter nd sister.their ways are now my ways nd im happy here.its too soon for me to remember any happiness i had at mpumuza.thule war still sad about winnie and now talking about mpumuza nd its bitter memories.her eyes warmed with tears.she tried hard to blink them away but as she remembered the image her murdered parents.the story continues next week.
